The use of raffia twine for agriculture could bring you great losses

Raffia twine was an amply used material by agronomists, but has fallen into disuse in recent decades, and here we will explain you why.

Raffia twine for agriculture started to be used because of being relatively cheap, strong and light, but after many years it was verified how unfavorable it was; here are some of the most important reasons:

  • Since it is an organic material, it is very easy for fungus, plagues and bacteria to lodge between the string’s threads. When this happens there is no possible way to go back, because these microorganisms become immune to fungicides and repellents by hiding very well into the grooves of the twine. Obviously, this makes raffia twine for agriculture a source of infections that can easily contaminate the whole harvest by spreading themselves through the trellis.
