Why do you need a Scrog netting method on your crop?

Find here the advantages of SCROG net on your hemp fields.

The scrog netting method helps the growers to train the plants to reach an optimal light exposure. The scrog netting method consists of using plastic nets to make the screen that guide the plants to achieve the best vegetative development. Some varieties of medical plants tend to grow vertically, going towards the source of light. Instead, for economical purposes, it is more beneficial if the plant expands horizontally, with more numerous branches. Uniformity is another market requirement. In fact a regular canopy allows the plant to receive a standard amount of light.  Medical plants are often cultivated indoor, in reduced spaces. So the scrog netting method increases the yields when the space available is a critical issue. Especially when the number of sprouts has to raise to assure a largest harvest. What does the scrog netting method look like? The scrog netting method consists of the installation of MALLAJUANA polypropylene net, horizontally, between the plants pots and the light.MALLAJUANA scrog net is designed with an ideal size of squared mesh, which permits to support the plants and force them to expand horizontally without damaging the stems. Furthermore its flexibility makes the net easy to cut, to adjust to the required area and fixed on a support structure.Usually the net has to cover the entire cultivation and it is installed at one hand above the top of the pots. If you install the net further up the plants will grow too much vertically spending too much energy. On the opposite, if you place the net more downwards the stems could be damaged. The right moment to put the scrog netting in is when the plant is at its vegetative stage. SCROG Density: You should consider one plant for every 30 square centimeters of netting. As the plants become taller and go through the net, you can manipulate them tying the branches to the net, with the help of HORTOCLIPS vegetable fastening rings. So branches have more space available to be able to develop. It is clear that the scrog method promotes the optimization of the output. Because the empty sections of the net will be quickly refill with new extensions. Access to light is guaranteed thanks to the aid of trellis.

Extra advises for maximum results on your hemp production.

Once the plants have covered 90% of the sog netting, you should stop to guide the plants from underneath, reduce the light exposition and provoke flowering. At this stage it is better to add some extra nutrients to make the roots stronger, and enable the plant to support the weight of its foliage. Because of the abundant foliage, and the increase of humidity, it is recommended to use insecticides and fungicides. An appropriate ventilation system is also needed. Also pruning is suggested to reinforce the branches and the leaves. Cut some large leaves and lower hidden little ones, for better development. The scrog netting method allows air to circulate through the foliage and to maintain an healthy phytosanitary environment.

Advantages of MALLAJUANA scrog net

MALLAJUANA SCROG trellis is uniform, washable and does not oxide. To the contrary of raffia, trellis netting is not easily contaminated by fungus or bacteria as its surface does not allow these pathogens or insects to hide within the fibers, unlike what happens with raffia twine. Furthermore HORTOMALLAS nets are very strong due to the high quality of the manufacturing material.

HORTOMALLAS manufactures and markets crop support nettings (trellising and tutoring as alternatives to the raffia twine labor intensive traditional system) that increase crop quality. Our Mission is to: INCREASE VEGETABLE CROP YIELD AND PROFITABILITY TO ALL THOSE VEGETABLES THAT NEED TUTORING AND SUPPORT USING NETTING INSTEAD OF RAFFIA. Since 1994 we help professional growers and farmers improve their cucumber, tomatoes, melon, zucchini, bean, chile, peppers crops where trellises and supports are needed. HORTOMALLAS is the ideal system for cucurbitacea and solonacea to improve their phytosanitary conditions, while increasing the solar exposure and the brix degrees. Besides the obvious labor costs savings, the use of HORTOMALLAS increases the life span of the plant, allowing longer periods of harvests and of a greater quality.
