During autumn and winter, the main threat to your crops is the low temperatures. The INVERNAVELO® mesh has the ability to protect your crops from devastating frosts. The mechanism of this mesh forms an agricultural veil that shields the crops in low temperatures. Thanks to the microclimate formed between the cover and the crop, heat is retain as if it were a blanket.

The microclimate formed between the cover and the crop slowly escapes, ensuring that the heat remains inside, protecting your crops. It prevents heat from escaping rapidly, thus preventing the crops from being affect by temperature drops. The cover’s resilience doesn’t hinder the circulation of water and wind. Additionally, it allows for crop irrigation without the need to dismantle it.

The INVERNAVELO® cover protects against cold in winter, especially for our warm climate crops. It can prevent losses caused by short frosts and prevents direct contact with nighttime dew that freezes due to low temperatures. What are photoselective meshes?

It’s a tool that specifically modifies the spectrum of light filtered in the ultraviolet regions, intensifying diffuse radiation and also affecting the thermal components of the crop. It can vary shading from 5% to 95%.

Red Shade Mesh

In the case of the red mesh, it helps prevent the passage of blue bands, thus increasing the proportion of red light reaching the plants while reducing UV-A and UV-B radiation. It also repeatedly increases the productivity of leaf crops, peppers, and ornamentals compaired to each one with a standard cover. The effect of the meshes was compared with plants grown under sunlight in open fields without any screen. The nearly total light exclusion was also test using a black mesh that blocked 90% of sunlight.

Studies on colored photoselective meshes (woven and non-woven) demonstrated improvement in plants according to the color of the shade. Plants under the red shade showed higher leaf area compared to other colors, as well as obtaining the highest peroxidase, thus achieving the highest yield.
